Planning my 1st 1/4 mile run in May

Me and a couple of guys at work are planning on a run at Santa Pod in May. Now they have been many times and have built there own strip cars, here's one of them



They will however be running there road cars on this occasion [impreza wrx and evo 6] so i thought i would tag along.

Any tips or pointers so that i dont get to badly embarrased? I have read about this brake boost thing but have no idea what it is.

My car is a AT if that matters.
