With 48k on the clock the OEM turbos died shortly after dialing up the boost to 19 PSI.
It was time for replacements, but I wasn't ready to sink the cash into a twin scroll, going the economical route I bought stock replacement turbos from Tony with the upgraded thrust parts.
On dealing with Vargas:
Tony was a pleasure to deal with, working with me to find a good combo of options to suit my needs. He was always quick to answer my questions and requests. After going through several shipping & order changes everything arrived on-schedule and with everything as-ordered and well packed.
He's the kind of great vendor that the community needs.
On the turbos:
Not much to say about these, these are the stock-replacement turbos with the Upgraded Thrust Parts. Spool is AFAIK the same as my old turbos; Due to the upgraded wastegates I was able to increase the P in PID for the Procede's boost control, which means that they're supposed to build boost faster. I haven't spent enough time dialing in these parameters but we'll see what I end up with.
@rick@defiv Did the install, as usual he sent pictures, was communicative. He even hand washed and detailed the car before I picked it up.
For those who are interested some logs are attached.
